Since its inception Frente Común has taken on leadership of enriching the Latino voice through participation. The Frente Común Board Members adopted five areas of services it would address:

1. EDUCATION  
2. HEALTH  
3. ARTS  
4. SOCIAL SERVICE REFERRAL  
5. ENVIRONMENTAL

Listed below are some of the Frente Común successful activities/co-sponsorships:

EDUCATION

CLASSES in ESL, computer classes in Spanish, GED, Citizenship/Immigration

Leadership Skills Development.

HEALTH

SEWING CIRCLES; Mental health support group for women to dialogue on personal/emotional/parenting relationship issues domestic violence presenters.  

PESTICIDES/POISON AWARENESS Information for work/home environments

ARTS

LATINO MUSIC FESTIVAL; diverse Latino music entertained while many vendors and agencies contributed with ethnic foods and information relevant to communities represented.

Multi-CULTURAL MUSIC FESTIVAL; co-sponsored with the Kenton Neighborhood Association where Blues, Latino, Jazz, Country and Rock& Roll were represented, various ethnic foods and agencies contributed with their resources.

FOLKLORICO DANCE GROUP; Frente Común provided funding and space for community dance group to rehearse and perform.

PAPER FLOWERS; provided materials and instruction at various events

CINCO de MAYO Celebrations; co-sponsored celebration at University Community Center providing outreach, materials, enrichment activity and MC for event

SOCIAL SERVICES REFERRALS

Frente Común board currently is a referral organization, maintaining collaborative partnerships with agencies available to serve the Latino community needs. The following are agencies/organizations we have used;

 Housing,

 Health: Nutrition, Emotional, and Mental, Crisis awareness,

 Children/Families Advocacy Services,

 Employment,

 Educational Alternatives

 Immigration Rights awareness organizations

 Local/State/Federal Latino advocacy groups

 Family and Youth activity promoters/agencies

 Community Safety and Security departments

 Parks and Recreation centers

ENVIRONMENTAL (social / physical)

Frente Común is committed to advocating and encouraging participation of community in holistic activities which enrich daily and long range life development through Educational, Emotional, Social, Mental and Communication positive approaches. Our goal is to empower youth and families by gaining voices, which can serve them and the communities in which they live.
We have advocated for and participated in Social/Political activities, which affirm self-esteem and belonging.

Below are some activities we have promoted through participation
;

  • Establishment of school clubs to develop leadership and positive activities

  • Voter Registration Drives,

  • Immigration Issue Awareness through sponsorship of Forum's

  • Co-sponsorship of Cesar E. Chavez Blvd' efforts

  • Participated in statewide "Cesar E. Chavez Youth Leadership Conference

  • Establishment of partnerships with Neighborhood Associations

  • Facilitated community groups on concerns affecting their living environments

  • Involvement through attendance of community committees dealing with Latino concerns
